October 25, 2013 | Albany, GA – Three student groups from Albany High School raised a total of $150 during October to help support the fight against breast cancer. Students in SkillsUSA, FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) and HOSA – Future Health Professionals worked together to increase awareness and raise funds. The students chose Cancer Coalition of South Georgia to receive the funds after participating in the Coalition’s Cancer STOMP Walk and Carnival event in September.

“We are so excited that students from local schools are getting our message and joining in our mission.” said Melissa Goodin, Development Manager for the Cancer Coalition. Goodin expounded on her statement by saying that through services, education, research and outreach Cancer Coalition of South Georgia is “Fighting Cancer … Right Here. Right Now.” “100% of our funds and resources remain in 32 South Georgia counties, and these students are helping further that mission.”
