January 19, 2018 | Albany, GA – The Cancer Coalition of South Georgia will host its fifth annual Night for Hope fundraising gala on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Albany. The 2018 gala proudly honors cancer survivor, Dr. David “Butch” Mosely. The elegant celebration includes a plated dinner, live and silent auctions, and live musical entertainment.

Different from national cancer organizations, every penny donated to the Cancer Coalition stays here to help our community. You are invited to make a difference by attending the event, being a sponsor, or donating auction items. You also may place a memorial/honorarium for a loved one or a business ad in the program booklet.

Dr. Mosely, past Superintendent of Dougherty County School System, is a steadfast champion of the Albany area. In 2002, Dr. Mosely successfully overcame bladder cancer, which then reoccurred in 2016.

With the community’s support, we will be able to honor Dr. Mosely and all local families touched by cancer, and continue our health navigation and cancer screenings, education, community research, and support for local survivors.

Cancer Coalition Interim CEO Jennifer Johnston said, “We are thrilled to have this beloved and highly respected member of our community as our 2018 Night for Hope honoree! I challenge everyone to become involved so we can continue our local, lifesaving work against cancer.”

Johnston stated, “We are grateful to our corporate partners DOCO Credit Union, Georgia CEO, Georgia Power, Keystone Foods/Equity Group, and Southeastern Credit Union, and to the event’s sponsors thus far: AB&T, Albany Area Primary Health Care, Albany Technical College, Dr. Jim Hotz, Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Radiation Oncology Associates, and SafeAire Heating and Cooling.

Cancer Coalition officials are seeking additional business and family sponsorships, business advertisements and memorial/honorariums for loved ones as well as auction donations.
