A Lifesaving Gift

None of Horizons’ lifesaving efforts would be possible without the generous gifts of the people who give in support of our mission. Every dollar you contribute to Horizons is spent on furthering our vision of a population that is not just armed with the knowledge they need to reduce their cancer risk but also has access to the screenings and services they need to detect, treat, and survive cancer.

When you make a tax-deductible donation to Horizons, your gift goes directly into providing life-changing healthcare access to Georgians who need it. Our Health Navigators work directly with patients to ensure that the cancer screenings that can save their lives aren’t out of reach.

Horizons is a federal tax-exempt organization under Internal Revenue Code Section 501 (c)(3)

Overcoming Hurdles: Andrea’s Story

Andrea’s doctor referred her to Horizons for a routine mammogram, resulting in a breast cancer diagnosis. Her Health Navigator secured the vital screening for Andrea and helped her navigate her treatment options and make informed decisions about how to proceed.

When transportation costs proved too much for Andrea to make it to her treatments, fuel cards from Horizons helped cover the gap and clear her road to recovery. “I had to be out of work a lot,” writes Andrea, “and I don’t know how I would have made it to my treatments without this help.”

“I appreciate everything Horizons has done for me. Without them, I might not be here today.

Striving for Screenings For All

Our vision is a Georgia where everyone has access to and takes advantage of routine cancer screenings, understands the importance of early detection, and can make it to effective treatments, no matter where they live. We still have a long way to go.

As of 2020:

0

Only 67% of women in Georgia aged 45 and over reported having up-to-date breast cancer screenings

0

Only 64% of Georgians aged 45 and over reported having up-to-date colorectal cancer screenings

We won’t stop until those numbers are 100%.
